Purpose: Develop and deepen your gut based intuition.
Description: The gut not only digests your food but also acts as a brain and nervous system. When you have to make a non-major decision , decide in advance that you will use it as an opportunity to develop your gut based intuition.
Actual drill: When a decision to be taken comes your way, sit with it in silence. Spend 2 minutes doing box breathing in order to get yourself relaxed and focused. Then ask yourself the question that needs to be asked in order to be answered. What is the decision about? Then offer in your mind’s eye the multiplicity of options for answers. As you say each one in your mind’s eye, sit with the feelings that might arise in your gut. If none arise, then continue to ask your self the questions and provide yourself with the possible answers again. Do this slowly so you have time between options to really sit with them. Feel if your gut gives you an answer to which option to choose.
Reflection question: Where you able to feel into your gut? If so, how do you know? What was the actual experience like? Did your gut have a particular voice? Energy? Feeling state? Sensation? How did it feel to feel your way into an answer instead of thinking your way into it?
